Actor Tamannaah Bhatia recently became the talk of the town once again after her dance number ‘Ghafoor’ from Aryan Khan’s debut web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood took social media by storm. Known for her effortless moves and magnetic screen presence, the actor impressed fans with her energy and style — but it was her noticeable physical transformation that sparked online discussions.

While some netizens credited her fit look to Ozempic, others speculated it was a “revenge body” following her reported breakup with actor Vijay Varma. Tamannaah has now addressed these rumours and shared her perspective in a recent chat with Harper’s Bazaar India.
The actor explained that she has been working in the entertainment industry since she was 15, so her life has been largely in front of the camera. “There is hardly anything that I can hide,” she said. “Till my late 20s, I had a slender body type, so this so-called transition is not new to me. This might be new for the Hindi belt of the audience, but I’m nearing 100 films. People have seen my work in so many films and in so many different bodies, but essentially on the leaner side.”
Tamannaah also spoke about the natural evolution of a woman’s body. “A woman’s body is always changing. Every five years, we see a different version of ourselves and think, ‘Oh, this is how I look now.’ For me, COVID really hit my body hard. It became difficult to maintain the same weight I had in my 20s. I struggled with it. And I love food — I love to eat my rice, roti, and dal,” she said.
The Lust Stories 2 actor added that despite following a healthy lifestyle, she often felt pressure while facing the camera. “I didn’t want to feel conscious about my size. At some point, my tummy was coming out, and I thought, what is happening to my body? But inflammation is real. Every woman knows that during her cycle, her body shifts. I went through the same thing in my early 30s,” she explained.
Tamannaah emphasized that she has learned to embrace her natural curves rather than conform to unrealistic global beauty standards. “My curves are not going anywhere because I am Sindhi. That hip and waist are not going anywhere — it’s bone structure. I don’t think you’ll ever see me following global beauty standards. It’s aspirational to be Indian — people love our curves, and it’s time we embrace that,” she said.
On the work front, Tamannaah Bhatia will next be seen in O’ Romeo, starring alongside Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.
