Suniel Shetty is set to bring back his popular character, Yeda Anna, in the upcoming film Welcome To The Jungle. The movie, currently in production, reunites Shetty and Akshay Kumar, with Arshad Warsi also joining the cast. Director Ahmad Khan shared that Shetty will reprise the role with a twist, aiming to recreate the humour and camaraderie that fans have loved in their previous films. In this new instalment, Shetty steps once again into the quirky world of Yeda Anna, a character he originally portrayed in Awara Paagal Deewana bringing both nostalgia and fresh energy to the franchise.

As reported by Pinkvilla, director, Ahmad Khan said, “Well, Suniel is playing the character that we have picked up from Awara Paagal Deewana, Yeda Anna. So, he is playing Yeda Anna with a little different touch. He has got that already up his sleeve, the same character.”
Khan further noted, “You will basically see Anna, the same Suniel Shetty who was known for the character that he used to play: a funny, humorous Yeda Anna and Shyam.” He also emphasised the chemistry among the trio, “He and Akshay go many years, and their banter together with the timing being just right. So, in this, I have him (Suniel Shetty), Akshay Kumar, and Arshad Warsi together. So, it multiplies (fun) three times. He is having a ball, and so are we.”
On his part, Suniel’s enthusiastic return to the character was described. Ahmad Khan added, “He has always been a part of the Nadiadwala team with Firoz Nadiadwala. He is always in all Nadiadwala films. But when we told him the character, he completely jumped up. He said, I am not doing comedy films. But if this is the film and this is the role, I am hands-on completely.”
Moreover, the film will showcase Suniel in a different light; not just his comic edge but also his moves on the dance floor. “He’s got three songs. I made him dance in his younger days. Now, again, I’m making him dance, and that’s the best part about the man. He refuses to get old.”
The ensemble cast features Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta and others. The production is being handled by Firoz Nadiadwala and the makers expect to wrap up filming in January 2026, with a targeted release date in mid-2026.
