However, one such actress chose to walk away from acting after growing fed up with repeated kissing scenes. This innocent-faced beauty made history by portraying a reserved, hesitant, and simple girl on screen. Her performance in a single film was so impactful that she began receiving marriage proposals from abroad. Yet, she eventually withdrew from the film industry due to the lack of roles that aligned with her values and expectations.
The young heroine we’re talking about is none other than Amrita Rao. Early in her career, she starred opposite Shahid Kapoor in Ishq Vishk. Her role as a bubbly, charming girl in the film was well-received by audiences. She went on to appear in several hit films. However, according to her, the lack of meaningful roles eventually led her to step away from acting.

In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Vivaah fame Amrita Rao made some surprising revelations. She shared that after playing the role of Poonam in Vivaah, she gained a significant NRI fan following. The actress revealed that she even received marriage proposals from abroad. Some admirers went so far as to send her family photos, hoping to impress her. In fact, many sent pictures of themselves posing with their cars and dogs.
Amrita Rao also revealed that she was once left completely bewildered by a crazed fan. She shared that a fan had sent her a letter written in blood, which deeply frightened her. Additionally, there was a man who would frequently loiter near the telephone booth close to her house.

Why did Amrita Rao leave acting?
When Amrita Rao was asked about her career, she explained that after delivering several hits, she began receiving only similar types of roles. “Even after my hits, I always felt something wasn’t right. I didn’t want to do the kind of work I was being offered. I especially hated doing kissing scenes on screen,” she said.

Amrita explained that this was the reason she distanced herself from everyone and stopped attending parties and award shows. It’s worth noting that she quit acting after marrying RJ Anmol. Now, even when she does appear on screen, it’s only in small roles every few years.
