Salman Khan indirectly reacts to Abhinav Kashyap’s statements
Without taking anyone’s name, Salman said that people who appreciated him in the past, are now making ‘rubbish’ statements about him on podcasts. He said, “Jo sab mere saath attach huye hai ya huye the, aajkal unki bhi baj rahi hai. Baithe-baithe log kuch bhi bol rahe hain jinse mera taluk raha nahi, aur jinhone kabhi meri tareef ki hai. Ab they don’t quite like me anymore. Aajkal log podcast me aake utpatang baatein karte hai kyunki unke paas koi kaam nahi hai. My request to you all is — please koi kaam kar lo.“
He further advised the contestants to focus on work, “No matter what, get up and go to work.”
Salman Khan and Abhinav Kashyap controversy
For the unversed, the feud between Abhinav Kashyap and Salman Khan goes way back during the filming of Dabangg. Helmed by Kashyap, the 2010 blockbuster starred Salman in the lead role alongside Sonu Sood, Sonakshi Sinha, and Arbaaz Khan. According to Abhinav, he was sidelined by Salman and his family “during the marketing of the film.” He also accused that the superstar’s family “harassed” him, which forced him to step away from taking away the film’s credit.
Following Dabangg, Abhinav directed only one more film Besharam, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Pallavi Sharda, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. Salman, meanwhile, went on with the Dabangg franchise, making part 2 and 3, both of which were commercial successes.
