Malayalam actor and producer, Dulquer Salmaan is once again making headlines for this luxury cars. This time, the customs have seized DQ’s 3rd SUV. The actor has now filed a petition in Kerala HC.
Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan is in the news these days. The reason isn’t his new film, but rather a smuggling case. Customs officials have seized another car belonging to the actor during a search of luxury vehicles imported from Bhutan. The incident, which occurred in Kochi on Saturday, shocked both the film industry and fans.
Is Dulquer Salmaan in trouble?
According to customs officials, smugglers brought luxury vehicles from Bhutan to India, re-registered them, and then sold them. One of these vehicles was a red Nissan Patrol SUV belonging to Dulquer Salmaan’s family. The car was seized from an apartment in Vennala, Kochi. It is reported that the vehicle was originally registered in Himachal Pradesh and then reached Dulquer Salmaan.
How many vehicles have been seized?
Customs investigations have so far seized 40 vehicles, including three believed to be linked to Dulquer Salmaan. Officials say they are collecting records for four of Dulquer’s vehicles. However, initial investigations have revealed that the actor purchased all of his vehicles from previous owners within India.
Dulquer Salmaan files petition in Kerala HC
The case took a new turn when Dulquer Salmaan recently approached the Kerala High Court. He filed a petition seeking the release of one of his confiscated cars, a 2004 Land Rover Defender. The petition argued that the vehicle was originally sent by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to its regional office in New Delhi.
Film industry experts believe that Dulquer Salmaan is not directly involved in this smuggling case, but is being inadvertently dragged into the controversy. On the other hand, investigating agencies are leaving no stone unturned, as this case involves illegal trade worth crores of rupees.
Dulquer Salmaan is considered one of the South Indian stars who has made a name for himself in both Hindi and Malayalam cinema. With films like “Karwaan,” “Sita Ramam,” and “Kurup,” he has established a special place among audiences. However, this controversy has cast a shadow over his illustrious career.
