After winning hearts as Firoz in Farzi, Bhuwan Arora shares how the show has given him the freedom to pick diverse roles and grow as an actor.
Bhuwan Arora’s journey from doing small roles in films like Shuddh Desi Romance and Tevar to becoming everyone’s favourite Firoz in Farzi has been inspiring. But now, the actor reveals that the biggest change post-Farzi isn’t just fame, it’s the professional freedom the show has given him.
Speaking to India.com, Bhuwan said, “Professionally, yes, personally, no. I’m still the same guy, I still hang out with the same people, I still live the same life. It’s become a little more comfortable, yes, it has given me a little flexibility as an actor to say yes or no to things, to have more choices.” He emphasised that while he remains the same grounded individual personally, the recognition from Farzi opened doors to more challenging and varied projects.
What makes him selective now?
Bhuwan explained that before Farzi, he often took roles as opportunities came, trying to make a mark wherever possible. Post-Farzi, however, he can now focus on scripts and characters that truly excite him. “It’s not about fame or money anymore,” he shared. “It’s about picking roles that allow me to explore my craft and keep challenging myself as an actor.”
This newfound freedom also allows him to balance his schedule and personal commitments better, something he values deeply. “I still live the same life, hang out with the same friends, and enjoy my routines. Farzi gave me flexibility, not a new identity,” he added.
How does this affect his upcoming projects?
With his upcoming thriller series Janaawar: The Beast releasing on Zee5 Global, Bhuwan is ready to surprise audiences once again. Playing Hemant Kumar, a cop from a small community in Chhattisgarh, Bhuwan is bringing depth and nuance to a complex character. His experience from Farzi has prepared him to tackle roles like these with confidence.
He added, “Now I can choose scripts where I feel the story resonates with me, where the character has layers and a journey that I want to explore. Farzi made that possible.”
Bhuwan credits his professional growth not just to luck but also to his approach. He emphasised that the joy of acting lies in the process, not the accolades. “Farzi gave me recognition, yes, but it didn’t change who I am. It just allowed me to pick roles I truly want to do,” he said.
