Bollywood actor arrested at Chennai airport with 3.5 kg of cocaine worth Rs 35 crore in drug trafficking case.
A Bollywood actor was arrested on charges of drug trafficking on Monday. A total of 3.5 kg of cocaine, estimated to be worth approximately Rs 35 crore in the international market, was recovered. The operation was carried out jointly by Chennai Customs and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence.
As per media reports, the Air Intelligence Unit at Chennai Airport received a tip-off. Following this, the actor, who returned from Singapore on Sunday morning, was stopped at the airport. It is same actor who played small roles in films Karan Johar’s film, Student of the Year. During the search, a counterfeit oil was found in his checked-in luggage trolley. It contained a white powder hidden in a plastic packet, which was likely to be cocaine.
