Intelligence reports indicate that the group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) is planning to disrupt the high-profile event.
Diljit Dosanjh, who is known to be one of the biggest artists in India, seems to be under the radar of an attack. On Wednesday, Melbourne police and intelligence agencies raised concerns over a threat to Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura 2025 concert, scheduled for November 1 (Saturday). According to reports, the group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) is aiming to disrupt the high-profile event.
SFJ’s Threat to Diljit Dosanjh
According to sources cited by CNN-News18, the plan seeks to re-establish significance among the global Sikh diaspora while fuelling anti-India narratives tied to the 1984 riots anniversary.
It is not the first time that SFJ has issued a threat. The organisation is known for issuing online warnings, putting up provocative banners, graffiti, and conducting cyber-disruptions.
Threats Elevated to Level 2
Australian police sources revealed to CNN-News18 that in recent days, the call for shutdown rallies and direct warnings from SFJ leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun have raised the threat level in Melbourne to Level 2, categorised as moderate to high.
Agencies are treating the potential threat of lone-wolf disruptions or acts of sabotage with seriousness. Reports suggest that organisations like the Victorian Sikh Youth Front and the Australian Sikh Rights Collective have been previously associated with SFJ’s online campaigns. Coordination and financial support are said to be managed via encrypted Telegram channels, while SFJ reportedly operates through servers based in the US and Canada to conceal its activities.
With these threats increasing by the day, the Australian Federal Police are keeping a close watch on 15–20 individuals who are said to have links with these organisations.
SFJ Calls for Boycott of Diljit
SFJ has been promoting hashtags like #BoycottDiljit and #PanthicJustice on X and Instagram. Diljit Dosanjh is known as the pride of Punjab and is celebrated for the cross-cultural success he has achieved.
In light of these threats, Indian and Australian authorities are reportedly working hand-in-hand to ensure the safety of the event.
