Actor Ibrahim Ali Khan has candidly acknowledged that his debut film, Nadaaniyan, fell flat, and has challenged his critics by promising a big hit in future. He told fans and critics alike, that if he gives a blockbuster in the future, people should go mad after him.
Ibrahim Ali Khan opens up on Nadaaniyan’s debacle; says, “I’m just gonna go on record and say that it was a really bad film”
Ibrahim revealed during an interview with Esquire India how expectations were sky-high ahead of his launch, yet “after Nadaaniyan, the hype has dropped real bad.” He added, “Not too long ago, they were all waiting for my launch, and after Nadaaniyan, the hype has dropped real bad. They’ve trolled me nonstop. ‘He won’t be able to do it only.’ It’s a massive low… and I constantly feel bad about it. I’m just gonna go on record and say that it was a really bad film.”
Ibrahim went further, “It was really bad. It became a sort of culture to, ‘Oh, let’s troll that film’. There were people who were trolling it just because they heard that some other person was trolling it. That’s uncalled for, but if I now give a blockbuster in the future, I want the same kind of response. They should go mad after me.”
Nadaaniyan, a teen-romantic comedy produced by Dharmatic Entertainment under the banner of Karan Johar, also starred Khushi Kapoor among others. The critical response to the film was poor.
Despite this rocky start, Ibrahim is already looking ahead. He was recently seen in Sarzameen and is set to next appear in Diler, directed by Kunal Deshmukh and reportedly starring Sreeleela in the female lead.
By owning his misstep and vowing to deliver a hit, Ibrahim appears determined to turn criticism into a comeback narrative. Whether audiences embrace him remains to be seen—but his next move will be closely watched.
