Though Kishore Kumar is no longer with us, his legacy continues as his bungalow has been transformed into a restaurant by a famous cricketer.
There are only a few names in Indian cinema that evoke love, nostalgia, and admiration. One of them has to be singer-actor Kishore Kumar. The man who belonged to the golden era of Bollywood is still remembered with fondness. Though Kumar is no longer with us, his legacy lives on, and now another reason has been given to remember the legend, as his bungalow has been renovated into a restaurant owned by a famous cricketer. You will be astonished to know that Kishore Kumar’s abode, Gouri Kunj in Juhu, is now one of Mumbai’s hottest spots for lunch and dinner.
Preserving Kishore Kumar’s name, the bungalow was transformed into a restaurant named One8 Commune by cricketer Virat Kohli. Though Kohli has a number of restaurants by the same name in different parts of the country, the one in Juhu is gaining all the limelight.
Virat Kohli’s Restaurant Which Was Once Kishore Kumar’s Bungalow
Situated in the coastal suburb of Juhu near Mumbai, Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune outlet opened in 2022, as the star cricketer paid homage to Kishore Kumar by transforming his ‘Gouri Kunj’ bungalow into a luxurious dining destination.
The restaurant exudes a distinctive charm, featuring modern architecture, a serene ambiance, and expansive glass ceilings.
“I like restaurants where you can go anytime. The kitchen opens in the morning and runs through the day. We also have events here. The interiors are raw and casual. The vibe was always meant to be chilled out,” Kohli said in a video tour of the restaurant.
