“Visiting Kenya has indeed been a beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime experience with its vast landscapes and incredible diversity of wildlife,” Rajamouli wrote. “Filming there has been one of the most memorable moments of my career. I am deeply thankful to the Kenyan government and the locals of Masai Mara, Naivasha, Samburu, and Amboseli for their tremendous support and hospitality throughout our shoot.”

Earlier, Musalia W Mudavadi shared photos with SS Rajamouli and his team on X, offering a glimpse into their meeting. In one of the pictures, Rajamouli was seen writing in a guest book, while in another, he posed alongside the politician and other team members.
Praising Rajamouli’s vision, Musalia wrote, “Kenya this past fortnight became the stage for one of the world’s greatest filmmakers, @ssrajamouli, the visionary Indian director, screenwriter, and storyteller whose works have captured the imagination of audiences across continents.”
He went on to highlight Kenya’s scenic beauty, saying, “From the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara to the scenic Naivasha, the rugged Samburu, and the iconic Amboseli, Kenya’s landscapes are now etched into what is set to become the largest film production in Asia. Scheduled for release in over 120 countries, the movie is expected to reach more than a billion viewers worldwide.”
About the Film
The untitled film, often referred to as SSMB 29 by fans, marks Rajamouli’s first collaboration with Mahesh Babu. Last month, on Mahesh Babu’s birthday, the first teaser is released, accompanied by the hashtag #GlobeTrotter, though the official title is yet to be confirmed.
Earlier this year, behind-the-scenes visuals from the film make their way online. Videos show Mahesh Babu filming intense action sequences in Odisha’s Koraput region, while another clip features him alongside actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. Priyanka Chopra is also recently spotted in Kenya, where she reportedly joins the cast for filming.
With an ambitious scale and a global release plan, Rajamouli’s upcoming film is already generating buzz across international markets. The director’s acknowledgment of Kenya’s support further highlights the growing collaboration between Indian cinema and global locations.
