Tanya Mittal’s reaction to her soaring social media numbers has triggered a wave of criticism, turning a routine task into a full-blown internet debate.

Every season of Bigg Boss brings drama, disagreements and unpredictable twists, but the latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 managed to stir up a social media storm over something as simple as follower counts. What began as a regular ration task quickly escalated into a conversation about gratitude, attitude and entitlement, all centred around contestant Tanya Mittal.
The audience, already alert to every move inside the BB house, didn’t hold back this time. And Tanya’s reaction to her rising follower count ended up becoming the talking point of the day.
Why is the internet calling Tanya ‘ungrateful’?
For this week’s ration task, contestants entered the app room one by one. Bigg Boss gave them two choices: either add 10% more ration to the 30% quota already provided, or check their social media following.
Ashnoor Kaur, Malti Chahar and Pranit More chose to increase the ratio for the house. But Farrhana Bhatt, Amaal Mallik, Tanya Mittal and Kunickaa Sadanand opted to view their follower numbers.
Farrhana was thrilled to find out her Instagram had crossed the 1 million mark, especially because she entered the show with just 40,000 followers. Amaal, too, was pleased to see his numbers rise to 5.2 million.
Tanya, however, was visibly disappointed. Despite her following jumping from 2.5 million to 3.7 million, she told Farrhana and Kunickaa that she expected to touch at least 5 million by now. That reaction didn’t sit well with viewers.
Within minutes, social media was flooded with comments slamming her attitude. One user wrote, “And then she asks whether she is spiritual. A spiritual person stays content in both gain and loss.” Another fumed, “Time to unfollow her.”
Several even mocked her frustration, joking, “Follower ki factory mein production kam ho gaya hai, is liye maalkin naraz hai,” while another asked sarcastically, “Uski followers ki bhi factory hogi na?”
Many felt that instead of appreciating audience support, Tanya chose to complain, and that became the trigger for the backlash.

What else happened in Bigg Boss 19 this week?
The episode didn’t end with the follower drama. Bigg Boss later called Gaurav into the confession room and presented him with a major decision:
Make himself the captain and compromise the safety and ration of the house, or appoint Shehbaz as captain and grant the entire house 100% ration and nomination safety.
Gaurav chose himself.
The decision didn’t go down well. Amaal and Shehbaz called Bigg Boss “unfair and a cheater”, sparking even more chaos.
The latest promo shows Bigg Boss hitting back, declaring that he doesn’t care what housemates think of him. It also teases intense confrontations, Amaal and Farrhana arguing with Gaurav, while Shehbaz is seen apologising to Bigg Boss with folded hands for disrespecting him.
