Born on 26 July 1972 in Mumbai, Jugal Hansraj entered the film world at a tender age of 10 years. He made his debut as a child artist in the critically acclaimed 1983 film Masoom. From his innocence to his natural expression, he instantly won everyone’s heart.
By the late 1990s, Jugal re-emerged as a charming lead hero. His boyish looks, acting talent and graceful presence made him one of the most promising stars of that era. He became a familiar face of romantic dramas and was loved for his on-screen sincerity.
Worked with Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan
As he grew up, he went on to work in several well-known films like Jhutha Sach, Loha, Aag Hi Aag, Aa Gale Lag Jaa and later appeared in Yash Raj Films’ Mohabbatein alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. This 2000 film became an all-time blockbuster and showcased Jugal in a memorable supporting role.

At the peak of his career, Jugal Hansraj’s popularity soared so high that he was reportedly signed for 40 films simultaneously. He had offers from some of the biggest names in the industry, like Manmohan Desai, Ramesh Sippy, Yash Johar, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. However, tides had turned, and somehow these projects took off, and his fame started fading.
